Anyone looking to shake off the lethargy of winter and get set for spring with a touch of mirth should head to Glasgow for Magners Glasgow International Comedy Festival. Now in its sixth year, and still growing, the Festival is the largest event of its kind in the UK.

Taking to the stage for 18 days in March, the Festival programme is side-splittingly stuffed with top national and international stand-ups, plus brand new comedy dramas, classic films, workshops and shows for the whole family.

Lined up for 2008 is Dame Edna Everage on her first visit to Glasgow in 10 years. Also appearing are festival favourite Jimmy Carr, comedy legends French and Saundersand Scotland's very own Frankie Boyle.
